VUI+ for New Vegas will now check for the presence of UIO and YUP. I'll be releasing instructions on editing Paperdoll.xml in a few days. There's no such option on FO3 because the plugin there (hello! there's a plugin for FO3 now) is currently enabled by default since it has a very limited function and I can't find a reason why anyone wouldn't want to use it. Please keep in mind that propagating these metrics on the HUD requires the plugin option to be enabled on New Vegas. This means that if you decide to increase your Vault Chad zoom, you won't have to reset your health meter positions. In addition to unifying paperdoll metrics, this feature also adjust the health meters on the Pip-Boy according to set zoom. This should be VERY welcome to paperdoll designers who will no longer have to deal with mod-breaking XML patches and focus on what they do best: draw these nice paperdolls :) ![]() Third, I have unified the paperdoll metrics on the Pip-Boy Stats and the HUD. Most menus will be easy, since the major groundwork has been laid out on Dialog. This feature will be expanded to cover more menus in the future. These are showcased in the new borderless dialog feature where you can simply set a different font at the fonts.xml file and the entire menu will adapt to it. Internal calculations will adjust element dimensions to reduce clipping on list items, shadows based on the font's outline texture strength, vertical spacing to eliminate wide paddings on small fonts or short paddings on big fonts. Second, the VUI+ font declaration is expanded to support properties for vertical spacing, font outlining and menu defaults. I'm quite proud that it's done, but it's disabled by default since it looks too different from standard vanilla. I'd been working on this feature for the last two years, challenged by technical, aesthetic and functional aspects. This option is meant to further blur the line between dialog and the active game, something that I have strived for since the first version of this mod. ![]() This is done via XML only and it will work on Fallout 3 (which by the way has been fully update to version 9 as well). It will also adjust shadows on both fonts AND graphical elements, to ensure readability on difficult backgrounds. Enabling this option at the settings.xml file will remove backgrounds and brackets from the Dialog menu and only shows topics that aren't clipped. The new version ships with 3 major new features:įirst, is the option for borderless and background-less dialog menu. Vanilla UI Plus version 9 has been released!
