I am going to match it with a pair of new burton cartel reflex bindings. ![]() That was my choice, BUT Rome have/had a good price on last years Service Dog which looks better, a bit softer flex which I think might be good for me as an advanced beginner but still a board that "carves phenomenal well" (Angry snowboarder) this was like an easy choice all of a sudden. When I first saw the Rome Stalefish it was very obvious this is it. But only directional, tapered, pow boards with set back and carving ability. I had my eys on other more aggressive carving boards it was some volume shifted and some traditional boards. If I will be lucky of course some pow-surfing =) With my research (several hours reading and watching reviews and info about shapes, flex, effective edge and radius and what not) and so little actual experience on a snowboard this happened to be my choice. I only have 6 days on a snowboard but with som skills from skateboard och surfing it was pretty easy to get the hang of snowboarding and the style I want to focus on. Since Rome keep e-mailng me, wanting me to rate the board I give this.Īfter a ridicolous amount of research I have found this to be my next board. ![]() I ended up purchasing another standard Ravine just because it is so much fun to ride. After putting 30 or so days on the Select, I have to say, while it does have the old familiar feel of a Ravine and can charge hard where the Ravine can't, the playfulness is lost in the stiffer flex. I took this opportunity to add a Ravine Select to the quiver. While they would not replace my board, they did offer me a discount on a new purchase. ![]() I contacted Rome customer service about the issue to which they informed me this was considered normal wear and tear. The board can hold its own in most situations, but does buckle when pushed hard due to its softer flex.Īpparently I was having so much fun riding this board that it unfortunately lost all of its camber in the tail after 50 or so days of riding to the point where the camber zone was completely flat when placed on a level surface. Let me start of by saying that this board is a absolute riot to ride! The profile makes it great for popping 180s off the tail and pressing into the nose for some buttery 360s.
